WHEN IS WORSHIP AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Due to the current Covid19 pandemic, we are holding one in-person worship at 10:00 AM on Sundays. You can also watch and participate in our Sunday morning Worship services on our Facebook page (facebook.com/DallasUMC) or on our You Tube channel.  Our services are currently posted at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Dallas United Methodist Church (UMC) has parking spaces on every side of the church building.  We also have a parking lot across Parsonage Street from the church.  Handicap spaces are along the handicapped entrance at the back of the church building.  This is one of the two main entrances to the building and is the one most people use.

WHERE DO I ENTER THE CHURCH?

We have two main entrances.

The one most people use is the handicapped entrance located at the back side of the church building.  This entrance brings you into the hallway (near the church office) that leads into our PRAYER ROOM (where folks meet and greet one another and share coffee, punch and other refreshments following Worship) and then into the front of the SANCTUARY.

The second main entrance is located at the front of the church building.  There are sidewalks and steps from each of the parking lots to this entrance which leads into a vestibule (lobby).  Stairs on both sides of the vestibule lead into the back of the SANCTUARY.

Greeter(s) are at both entrances to welcome you and provide any assistance you may need.

IS DALLAS UMC WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes.  The main entrance located at the back of the church building is wheelchair accessible and leads into the PRAYER ROOM and SANCTUARY which are both wheelchair accessible.  Restrooms that are wheelchair accessible are also available from this entrance.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in as we worship the Living God, Father-Son-and Holy Spirit.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOMED IN WORSHIP?

We love children and consider them a vital part of our church family.  If a child or children is fussy, makes noise, or moves about that is perfectly all right.  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me … do not hinder them from coming to me”

During worship, there is a “Time for All Children” when children are welcomed to come to the front of the church for their own special message and treat.

IS THERE A NURSERY AVAILABLE?

No, we do not currently have a staffed Nursery.  But we have persons ready to serve you in the nursery when needed. There is a nursery room available.  We are a Safe-Sanctuary church.  Our policy is that we must have unrelated adults in each classroom with all children under the age of 18.

WHEN DO YOU CELEBRATE HOLY COMMUNION AND CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month.

Ours is an “open” table.  This means that EVERYONE is welcome at the Lord’s Table.  You do not have to be a certain age.  You do not have to be a member of this church.  God’s grace is for EVERYONE … and that means EVERYONE.

Those with limited mobility are encouraged to notify an usher to direct the servers to bring communion to wherever you are seated.

We serve Holy Communion in a variety of ways … at the altar rail where you may kneel or stand as you wish and are served the elements and the return to your seat in an attitude of prayer … by intinction where you come forward and receive the elements and return to your seat in an attitude of prayer … or in your pew as the elements are passed to you where you are seated.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?

If for any reason (bathroom break, bad back, etc.) you need to move about during Worship, please feel free to do so.  We want to you be comfortable when you are with us.
